Whimsical Windows, Delirious Doors! #110

Welcome back to your favorite little weekly meme!
I have a few new photos for you, the next installment in my "up north" series. First, here's the source of the bell that we heard ringing nearby our hotel, in Tsfat:
It was attached to this community center:
Here's a funny sign that cracked us up as we were trying to find our way to Rosh Pina. Yes, I know that this isn't my funny signs blog, but I haven't managed to find the time to post there in over a year (!!!!) and I figure it's a shame not to share this...
Once we got to Rosh Pina, the interesting windows and doors began:

And then, quite surprisingly, I found some close cousins of the door whimsical enough to be chosen as button of our fine meme - how exciting!

That's it for this week- now it's your turn! To play along with us here at Whimsical Windows, Delirious Doors! just post your photo of a window, door, or anything architectural, link here, and sign up in the widget. Whimsical Windows, Delirious Doors! #108

Welcome back to your favorite little meme!
Well, it was a crazy, snowy week, but I'd like to get back to the pretty windows and doors that I found up north, almost a month ago.

Here's another window in our little hotel in Tsfat - this one is in the hallway:
And here are the buildings right across the street:
I'm not sure, something in that last one is making me nervous... is it just me?

Now it's your turn! To play along with us at Whimsical Windows, Delirious Doors! just post your photo of a window, door, or anything architectural, link here, and sign up in the widget. Whimsical Windows, Delirious Doors! #106

Here we are, back again for your favorite little meme!
Well, Chanuka is over, and now we can get back to looking at the interesting architecture that I found while vacationing up north, a few weeks ago. Here's the window (and fascinating ceiling!) that we found at ArtCafe, the restaurant we went to in Tsfat:
Nice, right? We came in to a completely empty restaurant, which was a bit weird, but business picked up shortly after :)

Now it's your turn! To participate in Whimsical Windows, Delirious Doors! just post your photo of a window, door, or anything architectural, link here, and sign up in the widget, below. Whimsical Windows, Delirious Doors! #104

Welcome back to your favorite little meme!
My husband and I went up North this past week for a day and a half, to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. Yes, you read that correctly, the magic number is twenty! Wow, that took a little getting used to, it certainly doesn't feel to me like it's been twenty years! But it's been a lot of fun, and is certainly worth celebrating.

Anyway, Gentle Reader, I came back from this trip with a load of windows and doors, so you're in for a fun ride! This week we'll start at the very beginning - our hotel room in Tsfat. I have a hunch that this boutique hotel was once an apartment building, and that the "suites" were once small apartments. Ours was certainly big enough to be an apartment, with a kitchenette, living area, giant bedroom (perhaps once two?) and a lovely balcony. And so, with no further ado, here is our lovely balcony door :)
Isn't that so pretty? As always, feel free to click on the photo, if you'd like a closer view.

Now it's your turn! To play with us here at Whimsical Windows, Delirious Doors! just post your photo of a window, door, or anything architectural, link here, and sign up in the widget. Then come back to visit the other players - that's the best part! Thanks for coming by, and have a wonderful week, everyone!

Tsfat Architecture #6

Wow - we're up to six posts! I hadn't realized that I had taken just so many photos when we were in Tsfat over the summer. And yet, this won't be the last post of its kind :)
And so, with no further ado: here are some more interesting doors and windows from Tsfat! Well, I guess we can start with these arches that we found while walking through the Old City...

Nice, right? And now we can move on to this door within a door within a gate:
And here are the lovely windows that were just outside that doorway:

I really like that last one! I suppose that's why I saved it for last :)

More Architecture from Tsfat!

Here's my next installment of photos that we took in Tsfat over the summer - what a fun day that was!

That last one made me laugh - even the kiosks have fancy doors in Tsfat :)

Back to Tsfat

Remember, a few months ago, we were in the middle of posting a bunch of windows and doors from Tsfat? Well, we may have gotten sidetracked, but that doesn't mean we can't pick up where we left off, right?

And so, here are some more cool doors that we saw on vacation this past summer, spending a few hours in Tsfat, up North. First, this lovely mosaic:

This fun door-within-a-door:
Here's my then nine year old daughter peeking inside - a perfect fit!
And this fancy, jeweled grillwork on a small window:
Isn't that pretty!

I'm posting this to Mary's fun meme: Window Views... and Doors, too! Go check it out right now, you'll be happy that you did! Have a great day, everyone!

A fast window - Tsfat #3

I found a minute to post this window - the next entry in my Tsfat collection. I like the simplicity and monochromatic look - do you?

Doors in Tsfat: #2

Here's the next installment of funky doors and windows that we found when walking around Tsfat a few weeks ago. Well, specifically, here's a set of two windows, and a door. Enjoy!

Here we start to move away from the turquoise, but certainly not toward anything more subtle :)

Skywatch - back in Tsfat

Here's a nice almost-sunset that I found as we were wandering around Tsfat last week. Wow, it feels like more than a week ago! Anyway, I couldn't decide if it was worth trying to shoot it through this pretty railing, but I'm glad that I did! Thank you, guilt-free digital photography!

Doors in Tsfat: #1

As I mentioned, we spent a few hours wandering around Tsfat last week. I found some really intriguing doors and windows there, and some really beautiful ones! I can't possibly post them all at once, there are just too many. Here are the first photo-worthy ones that I found:

Really interesting, right? Just wait, it's going to get even better :)
