Whimsical Windows, Delirious Doors! #148

Welcome back to your favorite little meme!
Okay, here come just a few more photos from London before we're off to our next stop: Los Angeles! As always, feel free to click on any of the photos, if you'd like a closer view:

This one is really more appropriate for my funny signs blog, but I can't resist posting it here as well:
Those signs were everywhere, all around Buckingham Palace. At first we were shocked that they would make such a ridiculous mistake, and then it occurred to us that maybe it's a British phrase? Maybe like "take care of the grass?" I'm happy to hear any encouraging information on the subject :)
Now, where were we? Ah yes, these guys!

While meanwhile, off to the far right, we found this guy, who seemed like he might be a more efficient guard:
Then off we were, through another park, headed back to Heathrow. All in all, a fantastic layover!

Whimsical Windows, Delirious Doors! #146

Welcome back to your favorite little meme!
Where were we? Ah yes, in England! Here we are, still walking to the Tube station:

Isn't that so pretty?

We took the Tube to Big Ben, and exited the station. "How will we know how to find Big Ben?" we wondered, and suddenly we heard "bong, bong, bong..." We looked straight up, and there it was! It actually took a bit of walking to get far enough away from it to get a photo:
Nice, right?

Asparagus! A macro

Hmm, there used to be a Macro Monday meme, but I can't find it... I suppose it's my own fault, for not having posted for so long :( If anyone knows where it's moved to, please let me know! Meanwhile, here's my asparagus from afar:

And from a bit closer:
Naturally, you can click on either, if you'd like a closer view!

Have a great week, everyone!

Skywatch! Moonset in the fog :)

It sure has been a while since I participated in Skywatch Friday! But a couple of mornings ago, when I found the moon peeking out behind the morning fog that we've had for the past few weeks, I just couldn't resist grabbing my camera!
First, here's the fog, across the valley from my house:
and then, suddenly, look who took a last bow before setting below the hills!

That was totally unexpected, and a lot of fun :)
For more sky-oriented photography, go check out Skywatch Friday, right now! Thanks for stopping by - have a great weekend, everyone!

Whimsical Windows, Delirious Doors! #145

Welcome back to your favorite little meme!
Thank God, we're still relatively war-free over here in Israel! I could totally get used to this :)

We were in the US for a couple of weeks early this past summer, with a half-day stopover in London on the way. Here are a few British windows and doors - as always, feel free to click on the photos, if you'd like a closer view:
From our hotel:
Those actually cracked me up a bit - it's amazing to me how different the facades are from the lovely buildings that reside behind them!

In our hotel:

And walking to the Tube station:

That certainly was unlike Jerusalem :) Stay tuned next week for our further adventures!

Whimsical Windows, Delirious Doors! #144

Welcome back to your favorite little meme!
Out shopping at dusk in the center of town (Jerusalem), I glanced up, and found these pretty windows and balconies:

I like how they're simultaneously lit by the not completely darkened sky and also by the street lights, which are just turning on!
