Whimsical Windows, Delirious Doors! #165

Welcome back to our little meme!
Last week, if you recall, my husband and I were roaming around Jerusalem. After strolling through the Yemin Moshe neighborhood, and having a lovely dinner, we carried on walking a bit. Dave wanted to show me a new hotel that had been built recently, but on the way there, we found this one - isn't it pretty?
You'll have to wait until next week to see the new one - and believe me, it's worth the wait!

Now it's your turn! Please play along with us here at Whimsical Windows, Delirious Doors! Just post your photo of a window, door, or anything architectural, link here, and sign up in the widget, below. Then go and visit the other participants, that's the most fun of all! Whimsical Windows, Delirious Doors! #164

Welcome back to our little meme!
For our anniversary, not too long ago, my husband and I wandered around Jerusalem a bit, and had dinner. We started out in Yemin Moshe, a neighborhood just outside the Old City. Yemin Moshe is a very beautiful, unique neighborhood, paved in cobblestone, but its best known landmark is its windmill:
It also has lots of pretty windows and doors, which were very intriguing to see at night:

Lovely!

52 Frames - weeks one and two

I'm participating in a weekly meme (so far hosted on facebook, hoping to move to its own website soon) called 52 Frames, and I wanted to share it with you guys here. It's a weekly challenge - each week we're given a topic, and need to photograph something that week which meets the challenge. I'm using it as an opportunity to use my Canon Rebel T3i, which has been sadly neglected, mostly out of intimidation... anyway, here are my first two submissions:

Week One - Self-Portrait

and this, Week Two - Silhouette
Go check out the site if you'd like to see some of the beautiful photographs that the participants have created! Next week is Lines - I have an idea of what I want to post, but we'll need to wait and see how it turns out... stay posted! :)

Whimsical Windows, Delirious Doors! #163

Welcome back to our little meme!

So I know that I've told you that I work in the engineering department of a small factory, located on a kibbutz not far from my home. And I know that I've showed you lots of photos of the views I get from my office, which tend to be breathtaking. But the building itself is a factory, and very plain from the outside.

To send the point home, I've taken the liberty of photographing the back door of our little building, complete with some accompanying windows:

and yet, pivoting 180 degrees in that same spot, we find this lovely landscape, bravely recovering from last week's snowstorm:

Which is why I like to look out the windows as often as I can :)

Whimsical Windows, Delirious Doors! #162

Welcome back to our fun little meme!
I don't know if you recall, but I once posted about a women's seminary, located on the same kibbutz as my workplace. The windows there are pretty cool!

Anyway, I've been going in to work quite early, and as I come down the road, I've noticed that as early as I think it may be, the lights always seem to be on over there! I guess they really are hard at work, studying all night long. This morning I drove a little closer than usual, to get a better view. First this, from down the road - you can see it way off in the distance, glowing greenish:
Now we're a little bit closer:
And here - I drove all the way into the parking lot :)
Impressive! The school that never sleeps.
