Well, as you may remember from my post a few weeks ago, summer in my neck of the woods is pretty much cloud-free. But just look at what we've been seeing this past week!

I can't believe I'm late getting this out! It was just a wee bit busy around here, with the first day of school this morning! Wow! I'm really sorry to see the summer vacation go...
Anyway, here's a photo that I took a few years ago and posted to Robin's old meme, Summer Stock Sunday. Of all the photos I've taken, this one most reminds me of summertime, and so I thought it appropriate to post today, as we wave farewell to summer vacation:
And there are some nice windows in the background there, so we're all squared away :)
Now it's your turn! To participate in Whimsical Windows, Delirious Doors, just post a photo of a window, door, or anything architectural, link here, and then sign up in the widget. Thanks so much for playing with us - I can't wait to see what you've found for us this week!

How exciting! Shadow Shot Sunday has always been one of my favorite memes - I feel like I really have a better eye for finding interesting things now that I've trained my brain to spot interesting shadows :) Thanks so much to Tracy for starting it, all those years ago!
Anyway, it is my absolute honor to host this week - and here's what I posted:
Nice, right? I was excited to find it!
I'm just going to take this fast opportunity to invite you all to participate in my own weekly meme, Whimsical Windows, Delirious Doors! It opens each week on Mondays, but you can come and sign up anytime during the week. We'd love to have you aboard, and it's a lot of fun to admire interesting architecture from all over the world!

I was inspired by the photo on Bing a few days ago. For those who didn't see, it looked like this:
Looks like country roads through some green pastures, right? Wrong - it's a close up of a melon!
Naturally, as soon as I woke up the next morning, I got out my trusty camera and attacked the melon I had in the fridge! Here's what I came up with:
And my personal favorite:
Okay, they're not as cool and close up as the one on Bing, but still, not bad, right?

This week I've found you a historical door! Here's the front entry to the King David Hotel:
Looks like it's in better shape than it was in 1946 :)

My daughter discovered something fascinating a couple of weeks ago, and shared it with me. Turns out, you can take photographs through peepholes! Who would have thought? Kids nowadays have the darnedest ideas :)
Isn't that intriguing?

Wow! 36 weeks of our favorite new little meme!
This isn't a great photo, I confess - I took it quickly, while sitting at a red light. Despite the mild blurriness, I just love the subject! Isn't this a sweet gate? It leads into a public park in Jerusalem. Quite welcoming, if I do say so myself!
And now it's your turn! To participate in Whimsical Windows, Delirious Doors, all you need to do is post a photo of a window, door, or anything architectural, link here, and then sign up in the widget below. Can you tell the difference?
If you guessed sunrise, you're right! That's what I saw on my way to work yesterday morning. Then when I turned the corner, I got a better view:
