Whimsical Windows, Delirious Doors! #143

Welcome back to your favorite little meme!
Well, we're still at war, and I must say, this is getting to be too long. I don't get it, but I'm also clearly not in charge. If any of you are interested in seeing just how often rockets are being flung onto our citizens, feel free to open this website any time, and you'll hear them in real time.

Anyway, onward and upward - I'm determined not to let terrorists get in the way of my life, and so Whimsical Windows, Delirious Doors! is back for another week of architectural photography! Here we go - this is a shot of the Prima Kings hotel in Jerusalem. It's the only hotel I know of that has built in flowers on each balcony! Feel free to click on the photo, if you'd like a much closer view.

Now it's your turn! To participate in Whimsical Windows, Delirious Doors! just post your photo of a window, door, or anything architectural, link here, and sign up in the widget, below. Then go and visit the other players - that's the most fun of all! Worldwide, we have beautiful variety on identical themes :)

Have a wonderful, peaceful week, everyone!

Whimsical Windows, Delirious Doors! #142

Welcome back to your favorite little meme!
Well, things have been a lot calmer here in Israel over the past week. Here's hoping it lasts! Meanwhile, I've found a moment to share the last of that Jerusalem photowalk I took a couple of months ago, starting with this interesting apartment building:

here's a close-up of the inset balconies:

I like those! They look like little cubbyholes :)

I finally reached my brother-in-law's apartment building, and this pretty door greeted me on my way up. It's a rather old building, and this door really stands out as relatively stylish and modern. Way to go, you guys behind the door!

That's it for now! To play along with us here at Whimsical Windows, Delirious Doors! just post your photo of a window, door, or anything architectural, link here, and sign up in the widget, below. Then go and visit the other players, that's the best part :)Thanks for stopping by - have a lovely week, all!

Whimsical Windows, Delirious Doors! #141

Welcome back to your favorite little meme!
I'm so sorry that I haven't been better about following up and checking all of your posts - I've just been really distracted watching this worldwide war unfold so horribly :( Please don't give up on me - I will come, I promise!

Here are a few pretty windows from my Jerusalem walk for you:

And here are some windows in the making:

That's all for today! Please play along with us here at Whimsical Windows, Delirious Doors, by posting your photo of a window, door, or anything architectural. Here's my wish for peace and quiet everywhere, and comfort to those still without. Be well, and try to find some whimsy in your week! Love, Toby

Whimsical Windows, Delirious Doors! #140

Welcome back to your favorite little meme!
Today was particularly hard. Something about our soldier named Hadar Goldin, who at first was presumed kidnapped, and only later determined to be deceased, really got to me. Maybe it was just his radiant smile, maybe it was that he was engaged to be married, maybe it was the brief hope that we all held that he was actually alive, I don't know. Whatever it was, I had a hard day.

But I think I promised not to be political here. I'm supposed to be concentrating on photography, right? So here goes - the next installation of windows and doors from Kiryat Moshe, in Jerusalem. This is actually pretty cool, here's an interesting building that I found when I was walking to my brother-in-law's house. It's actually a yeshiva!

Nice, right? But wait, it gets better :)

On the way *back* from dinner, I happened to glance over and notice that it looked even cooler in the dark! And so, here's the final view:
