Skywatch - catching up :)

Well, it's getting to be winterish, and that's the time of year that I'm blessed to be inundated with beautiful clouds at all times of day. Yay! Here are a few sunrises, sunsets, and random beautiful sky views that I've found over the past few weeks (buckle up, there are quite a few... :)

Skywatch! Moonset in the fog :)

It sure has been a while since I participated in Skywatch Friday! But a couple of mornings ago, when I found the moon peeking out behind the morning fog that we've had for the past few weeks, I just couldn't resist grabbing my camera!
First, here's the fog, across the valley from my house:

 and then, suddenly, look who took a last bow before setting below the hills!

That was totally unexpected, and a lot of fun :)

A moonset for Skywatch Friday

Last week we had a beautiful full moon. Really beautiful! I was very lucky to find it setting in the west one morning, when I came downstairs:

Skywatch Friday - A Dusty Sun

Today the weather was bizarre - dusty and yellow. Around lunchtime, it rained briefly, but not enough to wash the dust away. And so, when shopping in the afternoon, I found this looking down at me from way up in the sky:

Get it? It's the SUN!

There's a cool moon on the rise

Two weeks ago, I was driving home from grocery shopping, when I found myself faced with this at a red light. The street scene isn't too exciting, I know, but I was pretty pleased with myself for catching this moon before it was time to move forward:

Here's a nice moonrise I bumped into accidentally, earlier this week. I was innocently getting into my car, when I happened to glance to the left. So pretty, don't you think?

And that's why I keep my camera in my bag :)
