Whimsical Windows, Delirious Doors! #8

Thanks for coming back to our newest architectural meme! My youngest daughter and I were walking up a stairway in our neighborhood last week, when we happened to notice this door hiding below. Even though you can't see the whole thing, I just love the look of it. It reminds me of something from a children's book - maybe it's The Secret Garden? What do you think?

To participate in Whimsical Windows, Delirious Doors, just post a photo of a window, door, or anything architectural, link here, and post a link back to your photo in the widget below. Don't forget to refresh the page to make sure your that your link worked! Have a wonderful week, everyone - thanks for coming by!

I like how, even though the door is deeply inset, there is still that awning overhead.

What so often makes the home are the myriad details, the little things that make it unique. The hanging plant, entry canopy and the plants that add the subtle green t the scene. The simplicity of line is what makes this house lovely. Indeed, a simple plot for a child's tale is where this home could reside!

Love the green "spikes" splayed across a clear visual of the doorway! The plant keeps the door's secrets!

Please note! I have bent the architectural element of the meme this week, but still have windows and doors! It's just for fun!

Love the jungle-like palm by the door, it's got such a lush feeling to it.

And add me to the "bending the theme a bit" group again this week ;).

Thanks for coming, all of you! Feel free to bend the rules all you want, that's what art is about, isn't it?
