Shadow Shot - Windchimes! And a question

Hey everyone! Happy Post-Thanksgiving! I just wanted to take a second to share this cool shadow that I found in my house last week - these pretty windchimes that my daughter received for a birthday present last year. Aren't they charming?

For more cool, shadowy photography from all over the world, go check out Shadow Shot Sunday, hosted beautifully at Hey Harriet. You'll be happy that you went!

By the way - I have a question for you all! Ready? Here goes: Mary used to host a weekly meme on Wednesdays, called Window Views... and Doors, Too! She recently had to close it down, and I miss it dearly. Maybe it's because I studied architecture, and maybe not, but I really do enjoy finding interesting parts of buildings to photograph! Anyway, I was thinking of starting up a new meme in its place - I'm thinking of calling it Whimsical Windows. My question is this - if I do, will you participate? A meme for one is surely no fun :)

Let me know what you think in the comments! If there's interest, I'd like to start it up soon!

Have a great day all!

Those wind chimes are so very pretty and cast such lovely soft shadows!

Your new meme idea is great! Yes! There's room in the blogosphere for a windows meme! I don't know of any! If you do go ahead, I will add it to my list of memes on Meme-Aholics!

The one-dimensional photo feels here as if it is now 3-D - the further away shadow adds the lifelike sense of depth. Cool in subject and shadow!

As for windows, I like! Such a mix of old and new in New England architecture, this would be a fun meme theme!

Happy sound this picture provides.

And yes, it would be of great joy to search for a window good enough to participate in your challenge.

Please have a good weekend ahead.

Toby, thank so much for letting me know about this. I do love the meme idea, however, I rarely have good windows or doors worthy of the name to post. But if you build it, they will come! I'll be happy to join when I have a good entry.

Love the pink windchimes. Too pretty for outdoors?

I don't know how many "whimsical" windows I can find, but when I come across one, I'd certainly participate in your meme.

SHADOWY DELIGHT

Shadows above me, shadows below,
Shadows beside me, wherever I go;

Shadows each morning, shadows at night—
Shadows, O shadows, you’re my delight!

Wow - thanks so much for your encouragement, everyone! I'll aim to start it up next Wednesday. Send me an email at 321toby at gmail dot com if you'd like me to send you a reminder! I just need to get the hang of using that Linky thing - here's hoping this works!

That's a nice set of wind chimes and a well composed shot.

Thanks for visiting my blogs. Yes, it is a reflection of the wheel in a puddle after the rain last week. I also enjoyed Mary's windows and doors theme and I am interested in joining your Whimsical Windows blog.

Hi Toby ;-> You left a question on my blog about the question you asked here. While I did not participate in Mary's all that often, I did enjoy it when I did. And thus I shall occasionally link up to your new one as well.
