A macro flowery succulent

Remember those succulents that I'm so fond of? Well, I brought a little one to a friend of mine at work, and we're enjoying watching it grow. He watered it a couple of days ago, and asked me to come over and check out how cool it looked. Naturally, I came over and took a photo:
I know it's not a flower, but it's flower shaped, right?
:)
Feel free to click on the photo to get an even closer shot!

I presume that these succulents are hardy in your part of the world? I am at a bit of a loss regarding how to best care for them over winter in z. 5... any thoughts? L

LC - I'm not sure, our winters are relatively warm. We get a lot of rain and wind, and occasionally one day of snow, but no more than that! I would give it a try if I were you - they're pretty hardy!

I love succulents and love how they often look like flowers even though they aren't . Nice droplet. :)
