Window Wednesday once again

I was in Jerusalem this past week, and I found an old, deserted building, seemingly slated for demolition. Most of its windows are cracked or smashed altogether - it seems a shame. Anyway, I found one balcony that seems to still hold a hint of the charm that the building once had:

It's quaint and pretty, but there doesn't seem to be anything left to step on :)

*Added January 7, 2010: Truthfully, I don't know what the fate of this building is - only that it is currently very much abandoned. Here's hoping that instead of knocking it down, it's chosen for restoration!*

Feel free to click on the photo to enlarge it and get a better view! And do go to Mary's blog to see more Window Views... and Doors, too! Happy Wednesday, everyone!

If only a window or door could tell the story behind we will be fascinated by it. This one is awesome. Thanks for sharing!

the slab that was the balcony has disappeared...you can tell it once had one by looking at the one above. perhaps removed on purpose so as vandals could not access via the balcony? how unfortunate the building has been left to be demolished.
lovely capture :)

Nice. I think in the olden days it would have been one of the fabulous buildings.

I love the brick that this beautiful window is surrounded by. Gorgeous!

I like your shot. I wonder if it was a home or a bigger building. Pity it is deserted and derelict now.

What a shame! The building must have been something in its heyday!

Such a shame it can't be kept up. It has such a look of romance to it. What is built now is much plainer.
