I'm not sure what just happened, I wrote a whole post, dozed off, and when I woke up, it was gone. So I'm going to try to do this quickly :)
We had a great trip! I want to share the (many) windows and doors that I found while traveling in the US, but I know that you enjoy seeing photos from here in Israel, too, so I'll be sure to end off with some of those, too :)
Our trip involved many cities, but our first stop was Chicago. Here are just a few of the windows and doors that I found while there!
These, to me, really look like iconic Chicago windows:
And look at these crazy fire escapes! I would not want to be there in an emergency...
Believe it or not, I kept coming across this wacky idol-like thing at the top of some building! Sometimes I wonder if I'm the only one who can see things like this :)
You've been quite patient, so let's end off with a little bit of Jerusalem. Here are some views of our Supreme Court building, conveniently located right across from the dog park that we visited a couple of months ago :)
Huh, I guess you guys have been right all along, those really do look pretty different from their US counterparts :)
Now, at long last, it's your turn! To participate in Whimsical Windows, Delirious Doors! just post your photo of a window, door, or anything architectural, link here, and sign up in the widget, below. Then go and visit all the other players, that's the best part!
I do want to thank you all for coming by and keeping this meme alive while I was away! I'm sorry that I didn't have a chance to look at your posts while I was overseas, I expected to have a lot more time online, but it was a great trip, and I promise to catch up very soon :)
Have a wonderful, whimsical week, all of you! See you again soon!

Nice seeing you back, glad you had great vacation.
I've been to Chicago, but didn't notice such many unique windows as you did.
I like them all, and that super tall highrise building is my favorite. great perspective!
All those window shots are great, but really, the one with the fire escape is crazy!!
I hope your vacation/holiday was fun - the Windy City looks amazing in architecture from the ground level - I've only seen it as the jet climbs after taking off from Runway 14 right from O'Hare...someday I do need to take the 800 mile trek west and visit CHI. As always, Jerusalem is full of amazing architecture!
Hi Toby, welcome home. You certainly found lots of interesting windows. I like the Israeli ones best . . . those lovely curving lines.
I hope one day to see US. Wonderful photos!
Thanks so much, everyone!
