I have an interesting update in the life of one of my favorite succulents that I wanted to share with you. I should just explain that I received this plant a little over a year ago, from a friend of mine who told me that when one of the "petals" falls into some dirt, it grows into a whole new flower. That trick I've seen - but a couple of days ago I noticed that a whole "stalk" had fallen into the pot next to it. I went to pick it up, and look what I discovered:
Sorry for the repetitiveness, I just couldn't choose which photo I liked the best...
This plant is so simultaneously determined and easygoing! "You don't want me to stand up straight, no problem, I'll just grow sideways. Is that the best you've got?"
And it looks to me like some kind of sea creature - I think it is just so intriguing and pretty! Feel free to click on any of the photos, if you'd like to enlarge them.
In a new all-time record oflaziness dumb luck, I think that this actually qualifies for three weekly memes!!
One: Shadow Shot Sunday, hosted over at Hey Harriet. These are pretty cool shadows, you must admit.
Two, Macro Monday, hosted at Lisa's Chaos - this is about as macro as my little Canon PowerShot will let me get :)
And three, good ole Ruby Tuesday, at Work of the Poet. Pink is a shade of ruby, in my book!
Do check out all three of those memes - you'll enjoy them! And have a great week! I guess I'll catch y'all on Wednesday :)

Awesome! I have the same problem picking photos. My post is very full this week!
Love this plant.

This is a wonderful flower! To create a new flower by the mere accident of dropping it is neat, and I like the tiny little roots it creates. A nice photo shoot!
How cool is that, it deserves to be photographed more than once. Great capture
I like the first one...
Happy Sunday!
That's a really neat looking plant! I think I need plants like that! And I'm glad you couldn't decide on just one photo to post because I enjoyed seeing them all :)
That plant is so cool and I love the detail that you captured in the root growing from the stalk!!
Yep, yep, yep....they do this. I lived in the Sonoran desert for over a decade and have seen this happen over and over....it's amazing isn't it? Fantastic photography!!!!
