Whimsical Windows, Delirious Doors! #103

Welcome to the latest installment of your favorite little meme!
This week I've found an interesting piece of architecture in Jerusalem, and for a change of pace, I even know its name: Beit Shmuel. Alas, I'm not sure how to describe the place - It's a theater (I've seen shows there), it's a reception hall (I've been to a wedding there), I know that there are art classes that one can take there, and according to the website, it's also a boutique hotel! So perhaps it could be called a cultural center? Hmm.

Well, whatever her title, here she is, in some of her glory:
(As always, feel free to click on the photo, if you'd like a closer view of the glory.)

And now it's your turn! Please play along with us here at Whimsical Windows, Delirious Doors! It's easy, just post your photo of a window, door, or anything architectural, link here and sign up in the widget, below. Don't forget to visit the other players! Have a wonderful week, all, thanks for coming by!

I think you should wander inside and see what's under that dome!

Easy one - that's the reception hall, with a beautiful panoramic view!

Leave it to Safdie to design something so unusual.
Once, on a Houses from Within tour of Hebrew Union College, they took us over to see this Beit Shmuel too.
It was night and the view from the top was fantastic. I remember watching the French flag flutter over the nearby consulate. And lit up, the bell tower of the Dormition Abbey actually did look like the head of Kaiser Wilhelm.

You are amazing - I was there for a wedding once, and although I remember being quite impressed with the view, I did *not* notice Kaiser Wilhelm :)

Gotta love architecture that serves multiple purposes. Thanks for sharing Beit Shumel.
