Well, we had our fun filled Bat Mitzva! We enjoyed family visiting from the US, and have been partying it up! My brothers stayed in our friends' guest apartment, and I thought that their front door was very fitting for this meme:

You know how I always say that this meme is for "windows, doors, and anything architectural?" Well, I'm here today to put my money where my mouth is. I found an architectural detail that I really liked, and I wanted to share it, even though it's neither a window nor a door. True, there's an elevator door in the photo, but still - check out what I found while waiting in line at our bank in Jerusalem:

Do you see, do you see? Do you see what they did with the shape of the staircase poking through here from above? I don't know - maybe it's not unusual, but I know I've never seen anything like it before, and I thought it was really cool. I'm so glad to have a place to share it with you all!

Macro Monday - Wow!

This macro that I found at work today is a little bit nasty and a little bit awesome. Can you guess what it is?

It's what happens when the guy next to you at work doesn't wash out his coffee cup before going on a week-long vacation. Blech! And nifty! All at the same time :)

Whimsical Windows, Delirious Doors! #46

Here we are again, ready for our favorite little meme!

Well, it's true, the holidays feel like they ended weeks ago, and we are back in the thick of things. But what things! My youngest daughter's Bat Mitzva is in just under two weeks! We're all bustling around trying to get things ready for her party (anyone out there want to make some cookies?) and having a lot of fun. How exciting! And you'd think that would be enough excitement, but we also just found out that my son needs braces. Wowee. They sent him to have a fancy panoramic x-ray last week. I don't know if you recall, but I went to the same clinic about half a year ago, and was impressed enough with the location to stop and take some photos. Anyway, since we've changed the clocks already, it seemed like nighttime when we were there at 6:00 PM, and the building was really impressive all lit up! Check this out, doesn't it look like a hotel or something?

I realize that this photo doesn't look anything like that previous one. This is a front view, and after you walk in, the dental x-ray clinic is all the way at the back of the building. That makes the building even more interesting, I suppose - next time I'll try to walk around to the other side to see what that part looks like at night! I *will* try to stop by - but sometime after the Bat Mitzva :)

Buckle up for your favorite little meme, here it comes! 

Once again, I'm posting a little early, since tonight is Simchat Tora, the grand finale of this holiday season. We'll be off singing, dancing, and feasting with friends tonight! And by next Monday, this whole month of celebration will be a distant memory :(

Anyway, I just wanted to post some architecture while I still have a chance. Here's a lovely staircase that I found a few months ago. I really like it! And the windows and doors complement it nicely, I think!
