A Double Whammy Sunday

I found this somewhat poignant flower outside my office this week. What do you think?

Okay, fine - it is a little bit poignant. Just sitting there, all alone, amongst the empty branches. No? Anyway, here it is, a little bit closer up:

Feel free to click on either of the photos, if you'd like to see them even closer!

Anyway, thanks to the interesting shadows - I especially like the ones of the stamens onto the petals in the second shot! - and to the flower itself, I'm going to post this to both Shadow Shot Sunday, hosted beautifully at Hey Harriet, and to Today's Flowers. Go check out both of them, you'll be glad that you did! Enjoy the rest of your weekend, everyone!

How different and how beautiful it is when you took the close up shot!! Wonder if that says something about each of us and the way that people are able -- or not able to see us??? Terrific one for the day!

Some flowers seem to be more tenacious than others--this is definitely one of them!

SHADOW COUNTING

A shadow for one?
What fun, what fun!

A shadow for two—
In black or blue?

A shadow for three?
O my, O me!

A shadow for four?
Ah, mi amour!

A shadow for five?
Coming alive!

A shadow for six?
Light playing tricks!

Wonderful, fine shadow lines in that second shot! A hint of colour from a distance, closer can be a wonderland of surprise beauty! It was very much worth a second glance!
