Do these count as rubies?

We were at the sculpture garden in Jerusalem's Biblical Zoo yesterday with the kids, enjoying one of the last days of vacation. They have lots of these cool mosaic-covered climbing-things shaped almost like animals - well, it's kind of hard to describe in words, but quite unique, and quite gorgeous. There's a bunch of red in them, so I thought maybe I could post these for Ruby Tuesday - here's a shot of a whole one, and another close up of one of the mosaic bits:

We really enjoyed them - how pretty!

Don't forget: On Tuesdays, just post any photo you like (it must be one of your own) that contains the color RED and then link to this blog. Happy Ruby Tuesday!

Yes, they are bright and cheerful! We have a new sculpture like that still under construction up our block in Modi'in. There's a completed one in another section of town. I think they are wonderful. One of the things I love about Israel is the lovely gardens and parks designed for families.

Ruby Tuesday means red, lots or little. These sculptures are perfect, and I have taken more liberty in describing 'ruby'. A fine post, and happy Ruby Tuesday!

Look me up if you're ever in the neighborhood!

Those are so happy looking. Are they permanently roped off? They look like they'd be so much fun for kids. Speaking of which, I haven't taken my kids to the Israel Museum in years, I'll have to rectify that this winter...

Hi Robin! These are at the zoo, not the Israel Museum, although I actually have some photos from the sculptures there too - thanks for reminding me!
Most of the climbing things at the zoo are not roped off - just a few (maybe they're more delicate? I don't know). But the photos I took of the others all have my smiling kids on them, and I still haven't decided where I stand on putting pics of my kids online... if anyone out there would like to offer advice on this topic, I'm all ears!
