A Seasonal Ruby Tuesday

How can you tell that Rosh HaShana, the Jewish New Year, is fast approaching, here in Israel? Easy - just walk into any grocery store, and you'll be greeted by these in the produce section:

A happy and sweet New Year to all!

Don't forget: On Tuesdays, just post any photo you like (it must be one of your own) that contains the color RED and then link to this blog. Happy Ruby Tuesday!

  3. I LOVE pomegranates but they aren't in our stores yet. It's funny how many North Americans have never tasted this fruit.

  4. Patti - these are pomegranates, sweet and delicious. A sure sign are the "crowns" on top!

  6. Sorry if I was misleading - the crown on top of each one is a hint that they are pomegranates - not that they are sweet :)

  8. A favorite of mine!!!! I just planted a tree last year...hoping in a couple of years I'll have some right in my own back yard!!

  14. Quiet a number of my Chinese neighbour grew pomegranates tree in a pot,the leaves are used to chase away bad luck, I think.
